DISCLAIMER: As of 4th June 2024, the Nintendo pop-up store was closed on 1st January 2024 as it was just a temporary store. This blog post was actually written on 3rd June 2024, but due to simplicity reasons, I decided to set the date of this blog post to 22nd December 2023.

Today, on 21st December 2023, after landing at Singapore Changi after being back from Medan, I went to Jewel to meet my mom to do some exploring and visiting the Nintendo pop-up store. The Nintendo pop-up store is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, with other pop-up stores in Hong Kong and Seoul. As it is a temporary store, it will only last from 17th November 2023 to 1st Jan 2024. Therefore, I need to visit this store ASAP before its impending closure on 1 Jan. Inside the pop-up store, there are various kinds of toys and merchandises from Nintendo games like Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and the Legend of Zelda being sold, as well as the Nintendo Switch.

As I am a collector and a fan of the Super Mario series, the stuff that amazes me the most is the floor-to-almost-ceiling shelves of the soft toys made from various characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Bullet Bill, and more in different sizes. I bought a small sized Mario Soft Toy at around SGD 25 (Rp. 275k/USD 17 as of Dec 2023), which it comes in a unique shopping bag with Mario printed on it. The Mario soft toy is made by Sanei Boeki, a soft toy manufacturer in Japan famous for its Super Mario series of soft toys, as well as other Nintendo character soft toys.

今天2023 年 12 月 21 日，從印尼棉蘭回來後降落在新加坡樟宜機場後，我去星耀與我媽媽見面，探索並參觀了任天堂快閃店。任天堂快閃店是東南亞第一家此類快閃店，香港和首爾還有其他快閃店。由於是臨時店，營業時間只從2023年11月17日到2024年1月1日。因此，我需要在1月1日即將關門之前儘快去看看這家店。快閃店裏有各種各樣的玩具以及出售《超級馬里奧》、《動物森友會》和《塞爾達傳說》等任天堂遊戲以及任天堂 Switch 的商品。

作爲一個收藏家和超級馬里奧系列的粉絲，最讓我驚訝的是從地板到天花板的架子上擺滿了馬里奧、路易吉、桃子公主、耀西、子彈等各種角色的毛絨玩具等不同尺寸的產品。我以 25 新元左右的價格購買了一個小型馬里奧毛絨玩具（截至 2023 年 12 月，價格爲 27.5 萬印尼盾/17 美元），它裝在一個印有馬里奧圖案的獨特購物袋中。馬里奧毛絨玩具由日本毛絨玩具製造商三英貿易株式會社生產，該公司以超級馬里奧系列毛絨玩具以及其他任天堂角色毛絨玩具而聞名。

Pipe Around the World at Jewel

In addition to the pop-up store, Changi Jewel collaborated with Nintendo to set up several Mario-esque decorations and installations at the Shiseido Forest Valley, with a five-metre-tall 3D centrepiece featuring Mario himself with the pipes and coins found in the games to welcome visitors. For photo ops, visitors can pretend to be transported via the pipes like in the games by posing behind them.

除了快閃店外，星耀樟宜還與任天堂合作，在資生堂森林谷設置了多個馬里奧風格的裝飾和裝置，其中一個五米高的 3D 中心裝飾品是馬里奧本人以及在馬里奧中發現的管道和硬幣，來歡迎訪客。爲了拍照，遊客可以在管道後面擺姿勢，假裝像遊戲中一樣通過管道運輸。
