Introduction

The Tomica Plarail Catalogue 2024 Edition was just released by Takara Tomy.

Katalog Tomica Plarail Edisi 2024 baru sahaja dikeluarkan oleh Takara Tomy.

Plarail (Japanese: プラレール) is a brand of plastic toy trains and tracks made by Takara Tomy. The toy trains are operated using batteries and are mostly made based on real life Japanese trains. Unlike other realistic model trains, Plarail trains are not made with the proportion or scale of the actual train, as the target users are children who wish to play with something that are fun while also easy to set up. As of 2024, the trains are either made in Vietnam or Thailand.

Plarail (Bahasa Jepun: プラレール) ialah jenama mainan kereta api dan landasan plastik yang dibuat oleh Takara Tomy. Kereta api mainan dikendalikan menggunakan bateri dan kebanyakannya dibuat berdasarkan kereta api Jepun kehidupan sebenar. Tidak seperti kereta api model realistik yang lain, kereta api Plarail tidak dibuat mengikut perkadaran atau skala kereta api sebenar, kerana pengguna sasaran adalah kanak-kanak yang ingin bermain dengan sesuatu yang menyeronokkan dan juga mudah disediakan. Sehingga 2024, kereta api itu sama ada dibuat di Vietnam atau Thailand.

Tomica (Japanese: トミカ) is a brand of diecast toy vehicles made by Takara Tomy, ranging from sports cars to construction machineries. In addition to the regular series, there are also Long Tomica, which is double the length of the regular Tomica, as well as the Tomica Premium and special characters Dream Tomica series.

Tomica (Bahasa Jepun: トミカ) ialah jenama kenderaan mainan diecast yang dibuat oleh Takara Tomy, daripada kereta sport hingga jentera pembinaan. Selain siri biasa, terdapat juga Long Tomica, iaitu dua kali ganda panjang Tomica biasa, serta Tomica Premium dan watak istimewa siri Dream Tomica.

New Product: E8 Series Shinkansen and Tomica arch crossing set

In this new catalogue, one new product that I would like to feature in this blog is the E8 Series Shinkansen and Tomica arch crossing set from the Plarail series. 

Dalam katalog baharu ini, satu produk baharu yang saya ingin paparkan dalam blog ini ialah set rentas gerbang Shinkansen Siri E8 dan Tomica daripada siri Plarail.

In real life, the E8 Series is a new rolling stock that has been in operation since 16th March 2024 on the Yamagata Shinkansen. It was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries as JR East wishes to use a new rolling stock to replace the current E3 Series plying the same route.

As for the design, the train was designed by Ken Okuyama. The livery was taken from the re-liveried E3 Series, in which the body is white to evoke the snow of Mount Zao; yellow strip to represent Yamagata Prefecture prefectural flower, the safflower; and deep purple blue at the top to represent the Mandarin duck, the prefectural bird for Yamagata Prefecture.

As for the operations, the E8 series are coupled with the E5 series at the section between Tokyo and Fukushima train stations before the E8 series detaches to the Yamagata Shinkansen while the E5 series continues up north to Shin-Aomori or the Hokkaido. 

Dalam kehidupan sebenar, Siri E8 ialah rolling stock baharu yang telah beroperasi sejak 16 Mac 2024 di Yamagata Shinkansen. Ia dibina oleh Kawasaki Heavy Industries kerana JR East ingin menggunakan rolling stock baharu untuk menggantikan Siri E3 semasa yang menggunakan laluan yang sama.

Bagi reka bentuk, kereta api itu direka oleh Ken Okuyama. Livery diambil dari Siri E3 yang dihidupkan semula, di mana badan berwarna putih untuk membangkitkan salji Gunung Zao; jalur kuning untuk mewakili bunga wilayah Yamagata Prefecture, bunga safflower; dan biru ungu tua di bahagian atas untuk mewakili itik Mandarin, burung wilayah untuk Wilayah Yamagata.

Bagi operasi, siri E8 digandingkan dengan siri E5 di bahagian antara stesen kereta api Tokyo dan Fukushima sebelum siri E8 berlepas ke Yamagata Shinkansen manakala siri E5 diteruskan ke utara ke Shin-Aomori atau Hokkaido.

One pro that I would have with this product is that it is quite a good options for people who are new or fresh out of the boat to the Plarail brand of toy trains. However, the con that I have is that Takara Tomy is not planning to release the E8 series as an individual train for sale, as part of the regular series, for the time being. This is because I have enough of buying sets and would only want to play with the E8 series with my existing supply of tracks and facilities.

Satu kelebihan yang saya akan miliki dengan produk ini ialah ia merupakan pilihan yang baik untuk orang yang baru atau baru keluar dari bot ke kereta mainan jenama Plarail. Walau bagaimanapun, kelemahan yang saya ada ialah Takara Tomy tidak merancang untuk mengeluarkan siri E8 sebagai kereta api individu untuk dijual, sebagai sebahagian daripada siri biasa, buat masa ini. Ini kerana saya sudah cukup membeli set dan hanya mahu bermain dengan siri E8 dengan bekalan trek dan kemudahan sedia ada saya.

New Product: Mario Kart Series Drift Tomica

In March this year, Takara Tomy released a series of Mario Kart Drift Tomica. The characters available are Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi.

The toys were made from real life Super Mario characters in the Mario Kart game series in their respective karts, the vehicles used by the characters for racing similar to how F1 cars are used by their racers to compete. To play them, players insert the kart onto the catapult before pressing the button (M for Mario, L for Luigi, and an egg for Yoshi) to release the kart.

Pada bulan Mac tahun ini, Takara Tomy mengeluarkan siri Mario Kart Drift Tomica. Watak yang ada ialah Mario, Luigi, dan Yoshi.

Mainan itu dibuat daripada watak-watak Super Mario kehidupan sebenar dalam siri permainan Mario Kart dalam kart masing-masing, kenderaan yang digunakan oleh watak-watak untuk perlumbaan sama seperti bagaimana kereta F1 digunakan oleh pelumba mereka untuk bersaing. Untuk memainkannya, pemain memasukkan kart ke lastik sebelum menekan butang (M untuk Mario, L untuk Luigi, dan sebiji telur untuk Yoshi) untuk melepaskan kart.

Also, in addition to the karts, there is a set of accessories that can be used for additional fun. It is known as the Drift Challenge DX Set. In the set, there is a Tunnel stage, a jump ramp, some blocks and a bang slope, for additional fun.

Selain itu, sebagai tambahan kepada kart, terdapat satu set aksesori yang boleh digunakan untuk keseronokan tambahan. Ia dikenali sebagai Drift Challenge DX set. Dalam set, terdapat pentas Terowong, tanjakan lompat, beberapa blok dan cerun bang, untuk keseronokan tambahan.
