Goodbye to Cathay AMK Hub. I remember back in 2019, Cathay Cineplex at AMK Hub is where I went to watch Avengers Endgame and Frozen II. It was quite sad to see that the Cathay Cinema closed down, especially that it was where I catch the latest blockbusters back then with family and friends, making this a very sentimental place among my friend circle. Also, whenever me and my friends are finished with the movies, we will explore the mall or AMK area. Cathay, you will not be forgotten and thank you for all these times for serving the Ang Mo Kio community throughout the 17 years.
It is quite a sad thing that the cinema industry is declining in Singapore, as Cathay Cineplexes had shuttered 3 outlets in a span of 4 years, as well as competition with streaming services, which mostly does not have the quality that movie theaters offers.
